RS-LR Plot Information: Trace Land Record History
In West Bengal land records, you will often hear two terms: RS (Revisional Settlement) and LR (Land Reforms). Understanding the relationship between these two is critical for any property transaction.
What is the difference?
RS Plot (Sabek Dag): These are records from the 1960s settlement survey.
LR Plot (Hal Dag): These are the current, updated plot numbers after land reforms.
The BanglarBhumi portal allows you to correlate these two. If you only know the old plot number, you can find the new one, and vice versa.
How to Check RS-LR Information Online?
Use the "RS-LR Plot Information" service to find plot details:
Step 1. Login to BanglarBhumi: As always, start by logging into the official portal.
Step 2. Navigate to Service: Click on "Citizen Services" > "RS-LR Information".
Step 3. Select Mouza: Choose your District, Block, and Mouza correctly.
Step 4. Choose Conversion Type:
- Sabek Dag -> Hal Dag: Select this if you have the old RS plot number and want to know the current LR plot number.
- Hal Dag -> Sabek Dag: Select this if you have the current LR plot number and want to trace its history (RS number).
Step 5. View Details: Enter the plot number and click "View". The system will display the corresponding plot number along with total area and classification.
Why Do You Need This?
- Buying Old Property: Old deeds often mention RS plot numbers. You need to check the current status (LR) to verify ownership.
- Legal Verification: Courts may require the history of the plot to settle disputes.
- Land Map: To request a plot map, you generally need the current LR plot number.
